Dubai map
This project covers two map designs for a real estate developer in Dubai: a map of the Emirate and one of its communities. I began by preparing a base map in pastel tones:
I then compiled a list of around 80 nearby amenities and attractions to feature on the map. One would normally design custom map pins for interactive user interfaces. For the purposes of print however, it would be far more legible to use an old-school alphanumeric grid system with a map legend. The amenities are sorted by distance (10-15min driving) and type: school, universities, work, leisure, and other:

Designing a map for the extension of one of its communities has proven more challenging and required going through lots of scanned copies of oftentimes outdated development plans on various government websites to essentially design a vector map from scratch:
