Problem
Warehouse employees tend to fulfil orders on the go and leave paperwork and system updates for later. Other employees may be unaware that an order is being worked on by someone else or has already been fulfilled and can waste time looking for things that aren’t there. Sometimes warehouse workers swap serials to finish one skid instead of opening a new one which adds more complexities. All the while, retail customers are feeling ignored unaware how busy they are working on their orders in the back.
Solution
The new app allows for partial or complete order fulfilment for one or several orders belonging to the same customer, and making changes in the ERP system’s database on the go such as releasing and committing new inventory with a complicated serial swap procedure, updating order status, and uploading customer signature.
The serial swap feature allows swapping a single serial for several, making sure it matches the quantity on order, checking that there’s enough available quantity including what’s already been committed for this very order, and checking that none of specified serialised quantities have been committed to fulfil other orders during that time and before updating the system, eliminating the need to do paperwork or communicate it with all parties involved. Both warehouse workers and retail customers will know that an order is being worked on their mobiles or TV screen in the showroom’s waiting area.
